New Year’s Resolutions

In 2009 I resolve…

To take more pictures, tons more.

To post more content on this site and do it more often.

To stop saying “we won” or “we lost” when referring to the game results of my favorite sports teams.

To stop thinking I’m a total badass when I win at pool/darts/shuffleboard at the bar.

To post something that is actually funny and not something that is kinda funny because it’s true (see above).

To not let fear of failure stop me from living the life I want to live.

To move somewhere where I can start chasing my dreams.

To not get so mad when people leave the toilet seat and lid up. (FYI The force of a flushing toilet can send water and air particles from the toilet into the air where they can travel a great distance. Think about everything the particles can reach in your bathroom: toothbrush, sink, shower, towels, you, etc. So but the lid down before flushing!)

To live a healthier lifestyle, like the year that I lost a ton of weight.

To go a whole month without consuming alcohol.

To learn Adobe Flash.

To stop caring when people see me singing my heart out while driving.

To buy a new vehicle and by new I mean new to me. Goodbye Dragula, I’ll miss you and yet I won’t miss getting stuck everywhere.

To become more skilled at home brewing by making lots of beer this year.

To write down any good idea I have no matter where I am or what I’m doing because I will never remember it later.

To stop thinking I had a life changing or powerful idea just because I never wrote it down and forgot what it was.

To visit my sis in North Carolina.

To finally give up the $30 and take the test to become ASP Developer certified.

To read all the books I got for Christmas before next Christmas.

To stop trying to figure out which character I am in every movie I watch hoping for some sort of insight into my own life.

To give up all my bad habits.

To start a new bad habit so I have something to give up next year.

To post my resolutions on time next year.

Welcome to the wonderful world that is Jonas!

This is the first post for my photo blog/ who knows what else I’ll use it for. I firmly believe creativity is a muscle that can be built up and made stronger by exercising it. The best way to do that is to create goals. Two good examples from my own experience are, forcing yourself to write daily or locking yourself in a bathroom and not leaving until you’ve taken a hundred photos.  Everyone takes a decent picture every once in a while, but what does it take to take them more often and when you want to? How do you move from average to good or from good to brilliant? I’m not saying that anything brilliant will ever appear on this website or that brilliance will ever come from my own sweat and tears, but I will gain a better understanding of abilities as an amateur photographer and the progressions I make. So my goal is to post a photo every week for 52 straight weeks. As a shy person I have always been apprehensive to show my works to others and by finally putting myself out there, with issues of self-doubt and worries of being rejected, I can break the shackles that hold down my creativity.
